Another Provence

Authentic and unspoiled

The Chamoin family has been cultivating its passion for vines and wild Provence for over a century; this ‘Proùvenço bello’ (beautiful Provence in Provençal dialect) brimming with memories of yesteryear, with majestic landscapes that are both rugged and melodious. Green Provence is a land of passion and tradition. The streams are abundant, the forests secretive, and the villages charming. Here, Bastide de Blacailloux stands as the guardian of the wine-growing revival of this hinterland and high-altitude Provence. Its exceptional terroir, at the foot of the Sainte Baume, lends itself to the maturation of exceptional wines and incredible dreams.

Coteaux Varois en Provence

A young and dynamic AOP

Barely 30 years old, stretching over almost 3,000 hectares at an average altitude of 350 metres: since 1993, the Coteaux Varois en Provence AOP (protected designation of origin) epitomises the quality and distinctive character of Green Provence wines. This clay-limestone terroir is perfect for producing great wines that benefit from the freshness of the slopes surrounding the Sainte Baume Mountain. Rosé wines, but also reds and whites produced by blending Grenache, Rolle or Syrah, marked by their mineral and subtle quality. A little-known appellation worth (re)discovering!

Commitment to the environment

In 2018, the domain received its organic farming accreditation, and the High Environmental Value Level 3 label, based on performance indicators relating to biodiversity, phytosanitary strategy, fertilisation and irrigation management. This is just one of the many testimonies to Bastide de Blacailloux’s commitment to the land, the people and their future.
